שתי משפחות משני עברי גבול, שגורלן נשזר זה בזה, על רקע אחת התקופות הטעונות במזרח התיכון. במרכז העלילה ניצבות שתי נשים חזקות: מרים הישראלית וטניה הלבנונית, היוצרות קשר בלתי צפוי בתוך הכאוס המלחמתי ויוצאות יחד למסע דרכים נועז במטרה להציל אדם היקר לליבן. דרך עיניהן, נחשפת המציאות שמאחורי הכותרות, עולם של נאמנות ואובדן, פחד ותקווה, זיכרונות שאי אפשר להשאיר מאחור וסודות שממשיכים ללוות את החיים שנים אחרי שהמלחמה הסתיימה.
