דב צעיר ומנומס מגיע מפרו ללונדון, כשלצווארו פתק בו כתוב "בבקשה לטפל יפה בדב הזה". למזלו של הדובון, הוא נתקל במשפחה חביבה בתחנת הרכבת פדינגטון, והם מחליטים לאמץ אותו וקוראים לי על שם המקום בו פגשו אותו. במהרה הם מגלים שדב בבית זה סיפור די מסובך, אבל לבו הטוב של פדינגטון ורצונו להפוך לחלק מהמשפחה עוזרים לו, אפילו כאשר מגיעה סכנה אמיתית.
