איתמר בן ה-9 וזואי בת ה-11 מבלים סוף שבוע בבקתה בלב היער עם המשפחה. כשהם חושפים בטעות שני פושעים בעיצומו של שוד הם בורחים לבקתה אך הוריהם לא נמצאים ואין קליטה לניידים. הם יודעים שהשודדים בעקבותיהם ויש להם מעט זמן להכין "קבלת פנים" מבריקה ומשעשעת. במסורת "שכחו אותי בבית" הם מכינים להם שלל מלכודות נסתרות וטריקים עם כל מה שעומד לרשותם במטרה להטריף את השודדים ולהניסם היישר לזרועות המשטרה.
